Q-Light Board by Naporo

Robert Schwimmer from Naporo in Austira was kind enough to send me a prototype of their Q-Light board.  Made from Typha (we call it cattail in the USA),  it's a  lightweight and strong panel board.  I thought the picture of the X5 on their product looked impressive , please download the attached product brochure for more info.

Veccoâ„¢ Carpet Paint

As Seen On TV!  This product totally feels like something I bought on the shopping channel at 3AM, but Vecco™ carpet paint is new, and in ten words or less,  I think it's really cool.  My thoughts after testing it out....

1)Use low pile, not medium/high pile.  The paint covers and adheres better. The carpet in the sample photo is a medium/high pile.
2) Consider how well your choosen color will cover on your carpet color. Coverage of grey paint on grey carpet is great. However, coverage of red paint on grey carpet is "less great".
3) Give yourself about 12 days from start to finish, and you defiitley need a clean climate controlled environment to work in.
4)Dont try and fake large color inlays, stick with stencils.

Autodesk Photofly

Some Czarnowski designers have been using Autodesk's new application , Photofly, to make 3D models and image maps from photographs taken of objects.  A beautiful Timex watch was the object chosen, and here are the results.  The image maps are very impressive, as is the amount of triangular faces created, but the program seems to have a little ways to go to in order to easily create accurate models...but it is very very close!  Get it while its still free here--->   http://labs.autodesk.com/utilities/photo_scene_editor/
